I am extremely pleased to offer these authentic, WWII Kriegsmarine binoculars and case. These binoculars were often used by U-boats and German surface vessels during WWII. By carefully lifting up the protective rubber prism cover serial # 463613 as well as, \"beh 7x50\" was found. The production code, \"beh\" indicates that they were manufactured by Leitz-Wetzlar, one of Germany\'s greatest optical companies. Protective rubber armor can be found over each optical lens, prism covers and objective lens housing. This set is made of brass and I believe the barrels are made of aluminum with a textured enamel atop. Some paint loss more so on the brass bridge. The optics are clear and the lenses are crack and chip free. Diopter adjustments work freely and smoothly. Over the years some of the rubber shows signs of cracking and the rubber eyepiece hinges have a few splits but are still firmly attached. The original neck strap shows little to no wear and is also attached securely. The binocular\'s leather carrying case is boldly embossed with the German Eagle atop the letter \"M\". However, the case\'s strap and closing mechanism is no longer present. It has no rips and no foul odor. Overall, considering its age and intended use, this set has been very well preserved.
