Russian Lacquer box hand painted by Khouli artist Dontsova. This box is three boxes in one that are compartmentalized. Each lid is handpainted with a mermaid amongst sea creatures.
Underneath there is a compartment that slides out as well. Excellent detail all around the box with real sea shells on the box . The box is signed by the artist Dontsova. The size of the box
is 15 x 8 x 4 inches ( 38 x 20 x 10 cm). The majority of lacquer boxes like this one are made from papier mache and then painted and lacquered by the artist. The box is one of a kind and is a museum quality
work of art.
