This is an authentic GI WW2 M3 Trench Knife. This Guard Marked Imperial M3 Trench Knife was never issued during WW2. It has been in storage since then. It is in Mint condition as is the scabbard, a 1968 USM8A1 PWH (Pennsylvania Working Home for the Blind) The white on the scabbard is a preservative of the time that easily cleans off. A limited number of these M3 Trench knives were Arsenally repacked during the Vietnam War in 1968. They were packaged in boxes that originally contained two USM8A1 scabbards. The leather grips are darker due to being treated against moisture and mildew. It has 6 grooves with plastic spacers.Vietnam re-packed M3's were wrapped in brown paper. It is every collectors dream to own a boxed M3 in mint condition.
