Item Description:
From the Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring, we are proud to present the Gandalf the Grey Premium Format Figure.
Intricately detailed by the following Fellowship of artists, Greg Mowry of Geppetto Productions, Kevin Ellis, Trevor Grove, Bernardo Esquivel, Anthony Mestas, Heath Hammond, Joe Allard, Chadwick Andersen & the Sideshow Design & Development Team. This meticulously sculpted likeness of Ian McKellan, faithfully captures the strength of the noble Wizard as he appeared in "The Fellowship of the Ring".
Lighting the way as the Fellowship warily moves through the Mines of Moria, Gandalf's staff is raised, its crystal illuminated by an LED light-up feature. The figure's hand-tailored clothing reflect the layers and details of the wizard's intricate film costume, and each piece is individually painted and finished to exacting standards, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product.
As a member of the Istari, the ancient & powerful Wizard, Gandalf the Grey, is sent to Middle~Earth to orchestrate the forces of Light against the growing darkness spreading across the land. Gandalf is a trusted ally and provides wise counsel to the many peoples of Middle~Earth. When visiting the Shire, he discovers the true evil nature of Bilbo Baggins ring. Gandalf convinces him to entrust the ring to his young heir Frodo Baggins and sends him on a journey to Rivendell. Just barely arriving with the help of some friends along the way, a meeting of Elves, Dwarves & Men decide the future of Middle~Earth. A Fellowship of the Ring is formed with Frodo as the lone bearer of the "One Ring" with the responsibility of its destruction. Gandalf was chosen to serve as both guide and mentor to Frodo & the Fellowship in their quest to the fires of Mount Doom.
The Gandalf the Grey Statue is hand cast in heavy weight polystone & weighs approximately 18 lbs. boxed. The Wizard's impressive dimensions are 27.5"H X 9"W X 13"D overall. Of course Gandalf is hand painted to the highest standards which Sideshow is known for.
The Ole' Grey Wizard is displayed in a determined stride, while clutching his gnarly staff with a magic crystal inset, in his signature gray hooded robe & pointed rimmed hat. He's completed atop a detailed aged metal round base with some Moria Mines rocky earth, Elven scroll work, LOTR logo and Gandalf's name inscribed on the front plate.
