Luftwaffe Schwimmweste Mod. 10-30 B2 (1941-2):
$1175.00

1941 dated LUFTWAFFE SCHWIMMWESTE, Model 10-30 B-2
This is the second of two Luftwaffe aircrew schwimmweste that were found carefully stored away in a Normandy (France) basement. It is an excellent specimen, entirely intact but with some evidence of wear (dust, dirt & a patina of use). There has been some mild mildew over the years, but it seems to have been arrested. The fabric and rubber bladders are still very soft & pliable, and the bladder on this vest is perfectly airtight & capable of holding air (see several of the images). There is no material damage to fabric or hardware and the compressed CO2 inflation bottle & valve are clean, with no corrosion (either on bottle or valve). The other hardware is also free of corrosion that often marks these vests. This vest also served me as a research specimen for evaluation and has been stored with care whilst in my possession. Examine the images carefully and you will find that it to be a superb example of the Model 10-30 B-2 Typ vest as used over the Channel (with plastic inflation fittings instead of metal as in the B-1) and on the Continent. The specification label on this particular vest was carefully removed well in the past and is no longer on it, likely done to hide its origin for whatever purposes. Synthetic early German polymer fittings on inflation tube base & inflation bottle attachment. Synthetic rubber inflation tube still has its thread securement windings intact, and inflation tube with intact inflation mouthpiece tip is perfect and NOT stiffened. There are no personal identification marks or aircrew names on this vest. Those of you who know what you are looking at know full well that these Luftwaffe Schwimmweste are highly sought-after by militaria collectors and historical reenactment impressionists alike. They are especially valuable when the rubber bladders are intact and still airtight (as is this one).An airtight WW2 vintage Model 10-30 B-2 is a rare beast, indeed, and except for the missing specification label, it is a beauty. A later Russian copy of the German type AK-39 aircrew compass (quite similar to the AK-39) is included at no returns, all sales \'as is\'/\'as described\'. Please examine the images carefully and ask any questions you may have timely (before end of sale to allow sufficient time to respond). Will ship worldwide, except to nations where WW2 German military artifacts are not permitted by law (you know who you are), but please contact me for actual shipping/posting costs to your location prior to paying, since postage calculations are invariably inaccurate (especially to overseas...i.e. non-USA... locales). Please check back for other items that will be appearing shortly, including several excellent examples of the Luftwaffe Netzkopfhaube LkPN-101 in size 60cm, an IRVIN style seat-pack parachute (complete & intact) that has been converted to German Luftwaffe use, and other artifacts relating to the wartime Luftwaffe. ----------------------PLEASE NOTE: Please ask any questions you may have in a timely manner (i.e. well before close of sale). Thank you.-----------------------

Additional Note: Although this vest has no specification label, an authentic replica Model 10-30 B2 specification label is included as an extra, should someone wish to attach it. I have not done so, owing to my feeling that the original nature of the vest remain unaltered. See images for this label, which is a very accurate reproduction of an original.
