This is an original WWI named and numbered Purple Heart Medal. Original Bailey, Banks & offerdle contract, the medal has the numbered rim 18217. Named on the back to William J Doyle, who was wounded 7/6/18 and was a Sgt in Co A, 4th Infantry. Comes in its original box bottom only, with the label on the edge from BB & B. Box bottom has some wear from age. Medal has some wear to the purple center, ribbon is complete with pin back. Condition as seen in the photos.
Included with the medal is a copy of the Medal award card confirming Sgt Doyle\'s award on Sept 30, 1932. A rare and desirable medal.
