Awesome Mid 1800s Large Ornate Silverplate double walled Water Pitcher by E. Kaufmann, Philadelphia Pa. Patented 1863 with a Mountain Lion topped handle, Walrus topped Lid & Spectacular Eagle Spout. It appears to have a Gold Wash finish or protective coating? But as I am not knowledgeable nor an expert I can only describe my observations!
As in the conditions above descriptions I mention there is some soft dings (not hard with sharp creases) and I try to show in the photos.I am unsure of the Gold tone, it is possible it is a lacquer tarnish protective finish yellowed, as seen in pictures there appears there some drip lines below handle and spout down thru monogram along with some small spots here and there that are blackened tarnish, and selecting a spot thru monogram was able to silver polish the streak easily, then looking closely with a magnifier appeared the gold finish would flake away and with my fingernail and did so and it is bright silver under,
The Inside Looks to be in very nice usable condition, Measures approximately, 12\" tall with a 8\" base And 12\"across handle to spout,
Please take a look at my other sale items as I will be more than happy to combine things and reduce shipping costs whenever possible and please email me with any questions...
