OLDIE Grey Appy FAS \"Fleck\" - Mate to the elusive appy PAS & PAF For Sale

Can\'t believe we\'re putting this one up for sale! The gal who valued my friend\'s collection for insurance purposes, insisted he was the MOST valuable model in her collection. Big blanket glossy appy Fleck was one of the first issued in 1959 to match the all-elusive (and expensive) grey appy proud arab mare and foal - \"Speck and Spot\". Done in the glossy grey appy color of the times - he is WITHOUT the Breyer mold stamp, dating him as the earliest of models. But this guy is also WITHOUT the black on his legs! They are a shaded grey, light enough to show his black appy spots on the hind legs. I compared him to my own GL appy FAS and this one is of a much lighter, warmer grey. His spots are many, but done nicely and neatly in small dots (unlike some of the awful drips, spots and scatters that showed up on later models). In excellent condition, Fleck has no scuffs, scratches or detracting marks. Only his face seem is slightly darkened. Ear tips, tail and hoof tips are pristine. This guy must have been stored away, the kids didn\'t play with this one! Muzzle is pretty pink, no nostril rubs either. As further attesting to his early origins... His doodles are NOT painted with circular spots and he has the molded plastic dot on his right shoulder. Remember, these were adapted from Hagen Renaker\'s molds and Breyer was using them without permission. Breyer was able to keep the FAS mold because unlike HR\'s \"Amir\", he has the opposite foreleg raised. But Breyer later (wisely) milled the shoulder circle out of the mold. This horse is not only prized for his age and history, but you won\'t find another in such wonderful condition. Speck stands straight and balanced.
