You are now admiring an original WW-2 era M-422A made by Fried Ostermann. It must be from a very low volume contact as this make jacket does not come available very often. This jacket has been completely refurbished in the not so distant past.
If you look through the provided images you will see that the original USN stencil found on all M-422A jackets from this era is still visible. On the other hand, this Fried Ostermann jackethas some unusual design features. In fact so unusual they are almost entirely unique to this particular make jacket as compared to all same USN jackets made from this era. Among those features include underarm gussets that protrude outwards, pocket flaps that have beveled corners and a back belt that has a double stitch which runs their length. See those attached images as I included all within that group.
This jacket remains robust with very thick & well broken in hide making it soft and pliable. All lending to that fantastic look only a true War era jacket can give. Moreover, this jacket is clean and has no foul odors. With such nice attributes, if sized correctly to it\'s new owner, will make this jacket an absolute pleasure to wear for many years to come.
There are a few blemishes present which are all covered in the provided images. Above all this is a super nice jacket and very much ready to wear without worry as is.
Prior to listing I went over this jacket completely. From what I can see, the previous work done to this jacket includes a new lining, mouton collar, both waist & cuff kits and correct model original M-43 Talon zipper assembly. If there is any wear exhibited to any of these new components it is just beginning to manifest itself. In this case, with the exception of doing a few odds and ends to bring this jacket up to par, none of this fore mentioned work was done by me.
The jacket\'s measurements are as follows:
Shoulders 17\"Sleeve length 26\" to 26 1/2\"Pits 21 1/2\"Back Length 27\" (measured from the collar seam to the end of the waist knits)
Although this jacket is missing it\'s size label those measurements seen directly above indicate to me that this jacket is sized a vintage 40 long.
