Mid Century ModernPhilco Television ConsoleModel 50-T1479 w/Phonograph and RadioThis is a beautiful and unique piece of mid centuryfurniture that would be a great addition to yourMCMcollectionandhome decor. This 1950s Philco television comes in a large mahoganycabinet which is inpretty good condition for being 60 yrs old.All areas of the cabinet are solid and secure. Overall sheis pretty heavy. I am not a vintage television expert by any means,I will try to answer any questions you may have the best I can.The tube does come on after it warms up a bit. The radiolights up and static does comes through the speaker. I did not not attemptany further adjustments with the turner.I was not sure how to properly activate thephonographanddid not mess with it. After some reading about these vintage televisionsit is recommended not to power them up often, to leave that for theserviceman to check. This could cause unforeseen damage to thevaccuum bulbs that are still good or wiring that may be loose.The unit does power up but may need anoverall systems check by a television service repairman.
