Description:
Very rare and complete Christ on the Cross figure finely cast in jewel like quality cast iron that was only available from the finest Biedermeier foundries in Berlin at the beginning of the 1800\'s. This fine example is identical as illustrated in the book \"Eisen Statt Gold\". It is probably from the Sayner foundries and dates from the first half of the 19th century. Original patina and highly detailed a true rarity for the collector of christian artefacts. Please view our other Empire antiques in other listings.
