*BREYER*

BLACK JACK

U.S. CAPARISONED MILITARY HORSE

Super RARE and very hard to find!!

This is a brand NEW set and a must have for the serious collector!!

He isa *Gallery* release, mold #8134 made of resin and produced only in 2003.

The model measures about 11\" long, 9\" high and 5-3/4\" wide.

Here he is ~ brand NEW in the box, never displayed and removed only for his pictures.

He is complete with the book Black Jack, written by Robert Knuckle and his Breyer Certificate of Authenticity.

From the Certificate of Authenticity:

\'Congratulations on your purchase of this collectible Breyer Gallery sculpture. Breyer\'s tradition of fine artisanship continues with this stunning and exquisitely detailed presentation of Black Jack, America\'s famous riderless horse. It is a time-honored tradition to have a soldier lead a caparisoned, or riderless, horse as part of a full-honors military funeral cortege, an honor given only to a U.S. Army or Marine Corps Colonel or higher. A stunning jet black Morgan-Quarter Horse cross, Black Jack was dressed in an empty saddle with the rider\'s spurred boots facing backwards in the stirrups, which symbolized not only the loss of a fallen leader, but one who was looking back over his troops for the last time. During his lifetime, Black Jack escorted over one thousand military funerals at Arlington National Cemetery including those of Presidents Herbert Hoover, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, and General of the Army Douglas MacArthur. Presented on a handsome wooden base with brass plaque, Breyer\'s fine resin rendition of Black Jack is a timeless collectible which pays tribute to this historic horse, and to all those who have fallen and will never ride again.\'

The \'Breyer Animal Collector\'s Guide\' shows the sculptor is \'uncertain\', however, on the bottom of the wood base is a foil plaque, showing sculpted by Jane A Lunger\' ~ that name is also shown on the outer box.

This is an absolutely awesome model and ~ I think ~ one of the best ever!!!

The pictures really don\'t do him justice, there is nothing like seeing this guy in person!!!

The box shows some shelf wear, especially on the top flap, corners and edges, and asmall tear on the top right corner. This damage is not serious, but should be mentioned ~ the box is not factory mint, the contents are!!!

Any white/light areas on horse or box are glare from overhead lighting or camera flash ~ he is very black!!

Don\'t miss out, this is one of those super rare items that truly comes around only once in a blue moon!!!

I will ship this inside another box to(hopefully)avoid damaging the Breyer packaging.
