As best I can figure this is a reproduction of a Krag Bolo bayonet. It looks really good possibly made with original parts showing wear and patina. What makes me believe it\'s a reproduction is it\'s hollow ground on both sides which the ones pictured in books are not. It is dated 1902 on one side and has the US stamp on the other side. It measures just over 15 1/4\" overall where they 10 3/4\" blade. It has grinding marks underneath the patina finish so they\'ve been there for a while. There were only about 50 original bolo bayonets made so they are nearly impossible to find and if you do there upwards of $4000. This one would make a nice place holder in your Krag collection. I don\'t know if there was possibly a prototype made, No scabbard.this is probably not one of those.
