RARE WWII PACIFIC THEATER PTO PIPER L4 GRASSHOPPER PILOT GROUPING UNIFORM HELMET For Sale

Here is a rare grouping of uniforms and field gear belonging to Captain Clyde M Miller (Nov. 23, 1917 - Oct. 17, 1999), a L4 grasshopper (piper observation aircraft) pilot who served in the US Army on the Pacific Theater of Operation during WWII up until the Post-War years.This grouping includes:- An OD wool gabardine dress jacket with complete set of insignia and patches. Pin back captain shoulder rank insignia, US and artillery shiny, unmarked officer collar insignia. 7th Infantry Division on the right shoulder and Post-War 2nd Infantry Division patch on the left shoulder. Set of 5 bullion overseas bars on the left cuff. Beautiful set of pin back Liaison pilot wings produced by Amcraft.

Plastic covered ribbon bars, including from left to right, top to bottom: Air Medal ribbon, American campaign medal ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific campaign medal ribbon with invasion arrow and 2 stars, WWII victory medal ribbon, Army of occupation medal ribbon and Philippines liberation medal ribbon with 2 stars (The bottom ribbon bar is upside down and was left as found). The dimensions are described on the last photograph listed.- A matching shade dress trousers with large tear on the left leg. W34 I27.- A shade 54 (Pink) dress trousers. Note that these are the cavalry breeches pattern. W32 I25- A khaki wool shirt with shortened sleeves. Size 15 1/2 x 33.- A US Navy pattern M-668 flight suit. Light OD cotton construction with chest and leg pockets. This flight suit has definitely been used and show a lot of wear. Size 38M- A front seam, fixed bales M1 helmet shell. The chinstraps have been removed and replaced by rigger-made radio equipment hooks.- Several field and personal gear, including a field-made leather holster, a bible and rosary, various insignia and patches, a snake-bite kit, a smoking pipe with original matches and cigarette paper, a US-inspector stamp, two grasshopper (L4 Piper nickname) decals in poor condition. Diameter 2 5/8in- A lot of original documents, including his ID card, Various 7th ID publications, a large, 20 3/8in x 16in US Navy diploma, Various documents,...- A large US Army Air Forces type B4 uniform bag with 7th ID patch and full name and officer serial number stenciled on a white patch.- A large suitcase with full name and officer serial number stencils on each side.Scarce grouping with excellent possibility of research on this officer\'s career.This grouping is very heavy. The dress jacket in in good condition, though a little dusty. The OD trousers have several stains and a large rip. The Pink breeches are in good condition with some light stains and a couple moth holes. The shirt is in used condition. The Flight suit shows a lot of wear. The helmet shell has a lot of scratches and wear. The documents have creases and some are in average condition.
