RARE!Extremely nice mini horse hair weaving (shallow bowl) by Tohono O\'odham weaver, Ruby Thomas. This horse hair basket came from an old collector\'s collection. He identified the weaver he bought it from as Ruby Thomas. Ruby was one of the finest weavers of mini horse hair baskets the Tohono O\'odham Nation has ever known. Two other independent weavers, who are familiar with Ruby\'s work, also identified the basket.
Classic \"Ruby\" design with a star in the center, a snake wrapped around that, then a series of dog tracks followed by mountainous geometric designs around the edge.This is a polychrome (multi-color) basket.

Baskets are produced by the Tohono O\'odham from various materials such as willow, yucca and horse hair. Miniature versions of these baskets are highly sought after by collectors.
