Hello from FANCY ENDEAVOURS (previously savvy*spyglass*treasures)! I am happy you decided to view the wonderful things I am offering. Please do come back to my pages often because I am always on the hunt for more FANCY or not so FANCY products of past human endeavor to offer you!

While researching this pattern, I found some very interesting history on it. The book, pictured above, has an illustration of the inspiration for the pattern. The book is \"Moscow Treasures and Traditions\" published by the Smithsonian Institute with the help of the Boeing Company in 1990. (I\'m sorry, the book is not included in this sale). The pattern, commissioned by Tsar Nicholas I (reigned 1825 -1855) and designed by Fedor Grigorievich Solntsev (1801-92) and based the pattern on the gold plate pictured above that is enamel decorated and encrusted with rubies and emeralds. It was given by Natalya Kirillovna, mother of Peter the Great, to her four-year-old grandson, Tsarovich Aleksey. Along with more detail added to the pattern, the Cyrillic surrounding the coat of arms of Russia was changed to read, \"Nicholas Emperor and Autocrat of All the Russias\". This sale is for a gorgeous footed compote or tazza after this same pattern. This tazza is unmarked.A FANCY treasure you just got to HAVE for yourself or a loved one!

Condition:
There is minor wear to the decoration. Otherwise, this beautiful Kremlin Service compote is inexcellentcondition with no chips or cracks!

Approximate Dimensions:
8 5/8\" diameter x 3 5/8\" tall

PLEASE NOTE: Any display stands or other props that might be used in the pictures are not included in the sale unless specified. Thank you!

Why \"Fancy Endeavours\"?The name \"Fancy Endeavours\" came to me as I searched for ways to convey my love for theart and products of human enterprise in a smaller, easy to remember title. From music, architecture, and paintings, toceramics, jewelry, modes of transportation, clothing and accessories,to the little gadgets you see in \"As Seen on TV\" ads and everything in between;the things we create and have created in the past to make our lives easier and more beautiful are evidence of free human endeavor and a tangible connection to man\'s history of advancement. My previous name \"savvy*spyglass*treasures\" was inspired by my U.S. Navy experience, love of all things nautical, and by the popularity of \"Pirates of the Caribbean\" Disneyland ride and the movies. In this name change to \"fancyendeavours\", I deliberately am using the British spelling version of \"endeavor\" as homage to the HMS Endeavour, flagship of Lord Cutler Beckett of the East India Trading Company, in the Pirates movies. It has becomefashionable by some to be disdainful (envious) of the creativity of others....to the point of wishing to eliminate it and turning \"profit\" into a dirty word. This disturbing trend cannot, no, will not survive. I wish to do my part tocelebrateandremind anyone who does happen upon my little corner of the internet that without man\'s creativity, our lives would be bleak and hard beyond imagining. And, really, why shouldn\'t these talented and creative people, and those that come after, profit from their efforts? The things I am offering for sale here on may or may not all be beautiful or Fancy. However, they were made by their creators for the purpose and intention of making lives (theirs and ours)easier and/or more beautiful. I passionately adore free enterprise, in all its forms. I hope you will enjoy theseofferingsof\"Fancy Endeavours\" and what they represent!

\"The urge to save humanity is always a false front for the urge to rule it.\" – H. L. Mencken (September 12, 1880 – January 29, 1956)

“Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed? . . . .We want them broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts that you’re up against – and then you’ll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. . . . . There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-aoffering citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of lawbreakers – and then you cash in on the guilt. Now that’s the system, . . . that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.” - Floyd Ferris to Hank Reardon in Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand (February 2, 1905 to March 6, 1982)

\"I will not cede more power to the state. I will not willingly cede more power to anyone, not to the state, not to General Motors, not to the CIO. I will hoard my power like a miser, resisting every effort to drain it away from me. I will then use my power as I see fit. I mean to live my life an obedient man, but obedient to God, subservient to the wisdom of my ancestors; never to the authority of political truths arrived at yesterday at the voting booth.” - William F. Buckley (November 24, 1925 – February 27, 2008)\"Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.\" - George Orwell (25 June 1903 – 21 January 1950)
