The origin of the name Seriphos Green Quartz, is relative to where these awesome crystals originate from; which is only one place in the world and that is on the Greek Island of Seriphos, in the Aegean Sea.
These fabulous crystals are found in a specific area of this Greek island, in a cave that is underneath the ocean.
An alternative name used for these crystals is Prasem Hedenbergite Green Quartz. In the past, they were commonly known as prase crystals.
One of the interesting characteristics of these exceptional and exquisite green quartz crystals is that they commonly develop in a specific formation, and many of them have side branches like little green trees. It is the Hedenbergite presence that interferes with the growth of these stones.
They get their green color from Hedenbergite, which is a green mineral with a sweet Earth based energy.
The color of these crystals vary in the actual shade of green, which ranges from a pale light green color through a deep spinach green color. Most of these crystals are long and thin with a point on the end, and the color is usually lighter on the point and becomes a deeper green towards the base.
