This isa 1953 Singer 221K Featherweight Portable Sewing Machine Serial #EJ216644. You will not find a featherweight in nicer condition than this one. The birth date of this machine is September 4, 1953.This is a very cool item, it is in EXCELLENTcondition, and is ready to become your favorite portable sewing machine. This Singer sewing machine runs strong, smooth, and sews a great stitch forward and backward. This machine has been completely cleaned and polished, completely oiled and lubed, and it has been recently tested and works well. The machine has been professionally serviced, and will save you on the cost of servicing and parts. This featherweight is a Quilter\'s Dream Machine.There is a new protective bumper on the face plate screw, to prevent damage to the paint on the fold up table. The lower drip tray felt liner is new. The motor brushes are new, the belt is new, and the bed cushions are new. The foot pedal power cord is new.
This featherweight is very unique in that it has the uncommon prism decal, it has the St. John\'s, Canada motor, but it also has the words Made in Great Britain on the bottom inside of the arm. (See photos below)
It comes with the Original Owners Manual, Singer attachments, Singer Buttonholer, Singer oil can, Singer Tracing kit, Singer Sewing book, a screwdriver, bobbins, a marking pencil, tape measure, folding scissors, seam ripper, sewing gauge, needle threader, spool pin felt pads, and spools of thread.
The case is overall ingreat condition. The foot pedal has been tested and works as it should. The foot pedal power cord is brand new. The pedal was set as needed for good speed control. The plug for the power cord has a protective cover to keep it from getting bent or damaged. The bed and fold up table show some minor scratches, but overall excellent considering this machine is64 years old.
