Star Trek Phaser, S&W Fiberglass Midgrade, Museum Grade Reproduction of:The Revered “Spock\'s Brain Episode” Fiberglass Mid Grade

Finished and with All Metal custom-turned and aged aluminum trimsPainted and distressed/weathered to mimic the original \"Spock\'s Brain Episode\" P2CLICK HERE FOR YOUTUBE
  • Includes custom made display stand, Notarized Certificate Of Authenticity, storage box with foam lining AND, GLOSSY 8X10 REAL COLOR PHOTO PRINT !!
  • No plastic or resin copy can reproduce that same accurate feeling “in-the-hand”, nor take the vintage paint finishes in quite the same way, as real fiberglass.
  • Unique: You can\'t get more accurate than this particular S&W Reproduction. The four knurl nozzle and \"Spock’s Brain Episode” accurate long-acrylic-emitter on the P2 set this reproduction apart from other S&W Mid-Grades. This S&W was acquired from a collector on the east coast and I have verified it as authentic. It comes with a notarized Certificate Of Authenticity (COA). This prop was extensively inspected and reworked to make it available for you and accurize it to the \"Spock\'s Brain\" episode.
  • About The Aluminum Nozzle & Knurling: I traveled to the MoPOP Museum in Seattle and examined the Zolar-x/Paul G.Allen phaser nozzle while developing this final precise nozzle copy. I also studied the West Coast Collector nozzle photographs provided to me by my expert prop associates such as Ron Shanko and, other prop experts. I produced a dozen prototype attempts to perfect the nozzle. A special thank you to Dave Sewell who pushed me to perfection.
  • This Fiberglass “Spock’s Brain Episode” Phaser prop replica is a painstakingly made direct descendant referencing both the \"West Coast Collector #1\" (aka the WCM) Mid-Grade Fiberglass Phaser that was from the 1960\'s TV show set and, the Zolar-X screen used Phaser on Display at the MoPOP Museum.

  • I have built two of these ONLY. The first is sold and gone. Getting the details to look exactly like the \"Spock\'s Brain Episode Phaser\" is a long and difficult process. This is #2 of 2. In the final analysis, copies are very very hard to pull-off. The restoration of this reproduction started in January of 2018 and took till June to 2018 to complete.
  • Metal: Nozzle not ratcheting or spinning type, instead an accurate \"Spock\'s Brain Episode\" 1968 fixed type BUT unique with only four knurls!, the reproduction nozzle was manually machined after extensive study was completed. Other Custom Metal includes; a real stamped 60 degree 3 dimensional aluminum crispy, the side dial, the top dial, the P1 thumbwheel with coined edge, the trigger stud and, the solid brass release pin, these were all crafted after direct consultations with Ron Shanko and, visits to the MoPop museum in Seattle where the Zolar-X Phaser is on display.

  • Layering: ALL Fiberglass was underpainted with black gelcoat, then finish painted after curing for one week, the P2 handle was then painted white like an original before getting the final correct historic handle color, the P1 Zylonite was buffed out with fine steel wool and wet-look gloss clear coated to accent the blue in the Zylonite, the 2nd cure took four more weeks prior to weathering and distressing, then lastly the very final clear coating was applied followed by more buffing. This was all done to achieve the correct layering and proper textured/weathered appearance.

  • Construction: fiberglass shells, turned acrylic emitter, cast acrylic half moon with micro-bubbles (like the WCM has), diamond crisp on P1, with all custom machined 6063-T5 (British HE6) aluminum alloy trims and a C360 brass pin, this finished Phaser reproduction is full museum grade and the COA will certify that.

  • S&W Fiberglass: Shells were hand laid, in wood molds, by Ron Shanko after his personal examination and study of the only remaining original screen used Phasers (one of which was the WCM), in collaboration with Steven Wright (hence the S&W Mid-Grade designation for the shells).

  • Display Stand: Sale includes new custom display stand featuring armature of 1/4\" diameter aluminum and, a 4\" x 1\" square acrylic plinth with. a metal chrome plated Star Trek Badge.

COA: Comes with a signed and Notarized Certificate of Authenticity. A sample of a COA and storage box is shown in the listing photographs. The COA’s are offset-printed on Bank Paper, embossed, and include bar-coded serial numbered holograms for future verifications of authenticity.

  • Trust But Verify: visit herocomm or thestartrekpropauthority to learn more about Mid-Grade Phasers or ; CLICK TO CHECK OUT THE WCM

The Mid-Grade Style of Phaser appeared in many many other episodes to include: (a) \"Plato\'s Stepchildren, Fall 1968\", (b) “Assignment Earth, Spring 1968” and, (c) \"The Cloud Minders, Winter 1969\". Also visit startrekpropauthority or herocomm to learn more…What Does S&W Stand For?It’s short for Ron Shanko and Steven Wright, Google them. They are important Star Trek prop experts. Ron Shanko has also produced the ONLY screen accurate TOS Phaser Rifle from the episode “Where No Man Has Gone Before”. Ron and Steve’s work is exacting. How Accurate Is This Reproduction? You can be the judge of that by watching the YouTube video. No plastic or resin copy can reproduce that same accurate feeling “in-the-hand”, nor take the vintage paint finishes in quite the same way, as real fiberglass.
