Pair of Bronze Pigeon Sculptured FiguresUp for offer, we have a Pair of Bronze Pigeon Figurines. These realistic beauties are high on detail. Upon first glance, you would assume these birds are carved of wood because of the reddish brown patina-that has a glossy finish.
Both birds have their mouths open. One is in a feeding position with his wings tucked neatly over the tail. The other has one wing tucked and the other wing is slightly spanned has he looks over his back as if something is irritating him.
The chest, head, neck and underbelly is smooth – while the top feathers and wings, eyes and top of the feet are incised or etched. Even though each bird is one solid piece of bronze, the wings are cut too appear otherwise. The bottom of the feet is the only place on the body that the natural bronze peeks through the patina.
The bird looking over the shoulder is approximately 8¾-inches long, 5-inches wide, and 5½-inches tall. The feeding bird is approximately 8-inches long, 3½-inches wide and 3¾-inches tall. They weigh approximately 6½ to 7 pounds together.
These gorgeous birds are in excellent condition. Perfect for bookends are just to display anywhere in the home – ideal for bird collectors. This pair of sculptures will make a great gift.
