This is a collector piece, perfect for the discerning knife collector this Christmas. This knife is made with an Alabama Damascus steel blade and bolsters. The frame is made from colorful 6A14v Anodized Titanium, and finally the handles and frame inserts are mastodon ivory. The scrimshaws are expertly artistic, showing two distinct and realistic nudes. The blade has been carved on the top, a detail I personally have never seen on a knife, and the bolsters as well have been carved into a rose design. The amount of time and detail that was put into this knife is reminiscent of it\'s maker, Suchat Jangtanong of Thita Custom Knives. Suchat is a third generation, world renown knife maker, known for his distinct attention to detail, quality, and the high grade of materials used in each of his creations. Panja Pajiew, the scrimshaw artist, uses a technique similar to tattooing to create his realistic works of art on bone and ivory. You will never see another knife like this one. Each knife is a one of a kind, work of art.
This sale comes with this beautiful knife, resting on a handmade velvet pillow which is nestled in a beautifully carved wooden box with brass inserts on the lid. Inside the box, under the pillow, you will find the certificate of authenticity describing the materials used to create this masterpiece, as well as the artists who created it. This knife has never been used, and has only been taken out of the box for oiling, as a result the mastodon ivory is still a creamy white. Keep this in mind as this material will begin to yellow with exposure to sunlight. The oil used is one I strongly recommend for blades like this. It\'s called Choji oil which you can find easily here on .
I would place the value of this knife somewhere in the neighborhood of $2000-$2500
