OverallBayonet is in very fine +, original as found condition. Blade is excellent andmarked USN 1864 D.R. AMES MFG Co CHICOPEE MASS. Blade remains in greatcondition and has not been sharpened. Blade just shows some very finescuffs/scratches. Wood grip is excellent with one very slight hair line crack.Pommel top has D.R. cartouche. The original brass mounted leather scabbardremains in excellent shape and fits blade near perfect. The outside brass has awonderful dark colored patina just the way you want to see it. A real beautifulknife bayonet overall.
