VINTAGE 1930 PIERCE ARROW MASCOT DESK LAMP CAR HOOD ORNAMENT RADIATOR CAP For Sale

This is an incredible piece. This was purchased about 30 years ago at the Estate Sale of an Auto Executive here in Detroit. The mascot was drilled, tapped and converted to a lamp. But the parts and quality of the work makes it seem like it may have been made by someone at the Pierce Arrow factory. Something for an exec at the company, or as a presentation item. The mascot is 100% original OEM. It looks like it is New Old Stock right off the shelf. It may have never been on a car. The Art Deco style lamp rod is milled steel that was chrome plated. The period correct push through socket is nickle plated, the cord seems to be more Mid 40\'s to 50\'s. It is a bit of a mystery piece. Finished off with a custom wood base. A mascot in this condition that has not been drilled could run as much as $3000. I contend this would be even more rare, since no one would buy one in this condition and drill it. If it IS indeed made by Pierce Arrow, it would be even better. There is a small chip in the chrome plate where the piece was drilled. It is on the back side and isn\'t really visible. I was told by a collector it was from 1930, and by the pictures I have seen, that seems to be correct.
It is 9 1/2 inches talland the base is 5 1/2 inches wideTitled tireur d\'arc, it is one of the best know and iconic mascots ever. Found in car and art museums.
