California Farm Bureau early advertising sign--these signs were distributed to members of the Farm Bureau with the member\'s name stenciled in the space at the bottom--this sign has “S.J. NILES” in the name slot--S.J. Niles was Sylvester J. Niles, the son of J.E. Niles--the father and son team opened a flour mill in Adin, CA, in 1900--later businesses run by the Niles family were the Niles Hotel and Niles Theater in Alturas--the advertising on the sign reads “MEMBER FARM BUREAU - CALIFORNIA FARM BUREAU FEDERATION - S.J. NILES”--the sign is in beautiful condition and has pre-punched holes in the corners for mounting with some light rust.
