It is a pleasure to offer this amazing parachute from Oct 20th 1942. When asked if this was a parachute (it wasn\'timmediatelyclear) the donor boldly states \"Damn straight better be, I jumped out of planes with it.\" He also stated \"Everybody thought I was crazy to jump with aparachutewith the number 13 repeated on it but it never failed me.\" Why couldn\'t this man be my Grandfather? I had a strange sense that he was pulling my leg during most of his story telling.
Parachute is in rather good condition considering its age. About 25\' across. 24 panels each measuring about 35\" equaling up to a staggering 70\' feet perimeter. Holes that we found were small and minimal. We may have missed some so please keep in mind that they are present but do not in anyway detract from this jaw dropping piece in our opinion. A picture or two looks like it has a large stain, that is actual a stamp that says NA or perhaps AN
Please excuse the pictures, just to nasty outside to take a decent picture.

We turned white with fear. Had he heard something after all and did he now want to check out this mysterious looking bookcase? It seemed so, since he kept knocking, pulling, pushing and jerking on it. I was so scared I nearly fainted at the thought of this total stranger managing to discover our wonderful hiding place…” - See more at: align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: center;\">
