Vintage 1950\'s\"White Brand\"Turquoise Sewing Machine #1514 & Locking WoodenCarry/Travel Case in Excellent Condition.

This is a simply gorgeous, well-made machine in a two-tone turquoise (teal) color with high gloss finish and polished chrome throughout - truly one of the nicest 1514\'s you\'ll find from this era!

If you\'re new to a White Brand Sewing Machine you should know that everything is thereverse of a Singer - the hand-wheel rotates away from you instead of towardyou and the thread rolls off the bobbin in the favored (easy) direction, notcutting back over a lip as on Singer round bobbins, the needle is inserted flatside facing right and tread is inserted left to right.

A high-quality, industrial strength machine,made with the same gauge Steel mechanical components as commercial / industrialmachines and does a great job on both lightweight and heavy materials that manymodern machines are incapable of handling - this one\'s a true workhorse.

FYI - though we have not personally sewnwith this beauty, she sounds great and everything moves smoothly. Could probablyuse a good cleaning / tune up as it has been stored for a very long time.

Note (images/condition) - machine isin excellent overall condition though it has scuff marks, scratches and dings consistentwith age and use. The wooden carry case is structurally sound, and the claspsshut solidly though it shows heavy wear and 1 of the brackets (secures themachine on its wooden base) is loose.
