Wonderful Joseph Lucas Bicycle lamp, date stamped September 1917, Made in Birmingham, England. This is an early Silverking Model in all original condition. The name badge is different to the later versions, which became more commercial.
A standout item which is clean and has been loved. It has a reflectiveglow across all facades ofthe chrome work. A unique fade and patina in places where the chrome has eased away. No ingrain rust at all.Lamp bracket, knobs and switches are all free and in perfect working order. All original, nothing missing. No cracks or scratches to the front lens. Green and red reflector on either side. No yesteryear repairs and no seized parts. It doesn\'t look to have had any or much use over 101 years and the petroleum/oil in the base chamber is clean.
Condition wise: Has been on display, in a London shop for the past 30 yrs (we are also selling other items/see my other listings). Solid item, no loose bits and made of mainly steel and Nickel. It does work, however many people convert these to LED and this should be easier based on this one\'s condition. Some collectors choose to paint them black. Alternatively, this is a great example for a showcase display. If you need more info or pics, simply get in touch.
