Make an offer, I want to see it go to a good home... Dating somewhere in the 1916-1920 time frame, this is an exceedingly rare completely original Double Emeralite model 8734 1/4 in need of restoration. It comes complete with two original Emeralite shades, two complete original Emeralite inkwells and two original brass inkwell lids (usually missing & hard to find). The base appears to have been painted black at some point and of course needs to be stripped and polished. The shades are original but are not perfect. Neither have any cracks but both do have a couple of chips. I have shown close up photos which unintentionally exaggerate the chips and make them look larger and worse than they are. But none the less, they are there. The inkwells however are perfect. They are original to the lamp and they both say Emeralite on the bottom.
A partners lamp was made to sit in the center of a partners desk which was often found in law firms and various businesses. A partners desk was a very large usually oak desk which was made to accommodate two people sitting at opposite ends facing each other. One lamp, one pen rest and one ink well facing each person. This is a very, very rare model Emeralite that once it is restored will be a beautiful lamp and a beautiful piece of Emeralite history.
I will include the Emeralite catalog which advertises this exact lamp, model 8734 1/4. The catalog is in excellent condition, is also very rare and bears a copyright of 1920.
Please take a look through my other items as I will be listing many other early and rare examples of Emeralite lamps.
