You are offerding on aFANTASTICexample of anJapanese ImperialArmyType 97Turn & Bank Indicator, as used in many of the Japanese Front Line Fighters and bombers! This was used in the such as the Ki-27 Nate, Ki-36 \"Ida\", Ki-9 \"Spruce\", Ki-55 \"Ida\", Ki-54 \"Hickory\", and others!
This instrument measured the currentTurn and of the aircraft by the use ofair pressure. It was located on the main instrument panel of theNakajima Ki-27, Tachikawa Ki-36, Tachikawa Ki-9, Tachikawa Ki-54.
Made of aluminum and steel, this indicator isof early war manufacture. It still retains 95% of it\'s original finish, and featuresa mid-war Type4 aluminumdataplate, clearly indicating the model, manufacture, andproduction number. Also has a paper label above the aluminum one. It has a manufacturedate of November 1941and the dial still glows when UV light is applied! As it was removed from a Japanese aircraft, it features some wear and marks. The front has a flux adjustment lever, however it is currently very stiff, and will need to be oiled/cleaned, in orderfor it to move freely. I have indicated it\'s location in the last photos.
Like most Japanese instruments, this gauge is VERY rare and would be a SUPERB addition to any Japanese Instrument Collection!

------------------- ABOUT ME -----------------
Although my passion is the Me109, I do offer many other German Aircraft (Fw190, Me262, etc.), as well as USAF and Japanese items. Occasionally I do offer many non-vintage items such as prints and art relating to the time period. As a private collector myself, I am constantly on the lookout for historical memorabilia, authentic photographs, artwork or anything unique relating to military aircraft. If you are looking for anything specific and cannot locate it, feel free to contact me as I probably have it or at the very least, a contact who does!
