WWI Presentation 4 pc Coffee/Tea Service Silverplate? Deane & Co. London Bridge:
$449.99

Fantastic 4 pc Silverplate WWI Presentation Tea/Coffee Set made by Deane & Co. London Bridge, London England.Beautifully ornate work. All pieces are in fantastic condition with no sign of damageI am assuming they are silverplate because I cannot find any English silver hallmarksCoffee and Tea Pots have a bird finials (I am assuming they are doves). Nice sized Tea Caddy and creamer fill out set.Tea and coffee pots are stamped on bottom \"6 Deane & Co, London Bridge 1476\". The tea caddy and creamer have no marks but are obviously from the same set based on their decoration. The Teapot is engraved with the following presentation:\"To Serg. R. Blackmore from the Officers, non-Comissioned OFFICERS & Men of the No. 6 Battery 15th BRIGADE ROYAL ARTILLERY\"It is not easy to find records of NonCom officers from England in WWI but I was was able to find a Sergent R. Blackmore in the 15th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery in 1914 which I believe was the recipient of the presentation set, but as I am selling this set I figured I would leave all of the exploratory to the lucky buyer of this set. This is a very rare and unique item and I cannot find another presentation piece like this anywhere on the web including all of the various sale house historiesFor Measurements the biggest is the Coffee Pot(8: tall by 9\" wide from end of handle to tip of spout) the creamer is the smallest at 4\" tall by 5\" wide.
