Up for sale is this RARE WWII USMC Flash Spotting Instrument. This unit is marked . \"Instrument Flash Spotting No 4 Mk. III U.S.M. \"Cooke, Troughton & Simms Pat No 518148 No. 811 We believe this instrument was used in military Survey Regiments spotting horizontal and vertical angles and for general oberservation of enemy territory. It is binocular instrument designed to permit continuous observation without strain on the observers eyes. There is some wear from laying around for years. Rubber is brittle on extra eye pieces. We are not sure if anything could be missing. Has a 1950 inspection repair tag on it. Being sold as found as is. In my opinion still in decent collectible shape for its age.
