Offered for your consideration is a fully restored Wards Airline Deco table model radio, Mdl 62-425. Both the chassis and cabinet have been professionally restored.
The cabinet was carefully stripped, sanded, stained, grain filled, and shaded with the appropriate lacquer toner accents. This was followed by a process of applying numerous coats, (upwards of 15), of nitro-cellulose lacquer with multiple stages of wet sanding in between. The final step involved a \"cut and polish\" process using 2000 grit sandpaper followed by 3M automotive rubbing compound and polish applied to achieve a premier high gloss finish. The antique gold speaker cloth is \"period correct\" professionally reproduced fabric.
The chassis was professionally reconditioned with a process that included a full re-cap,alignment, cleaning of all contacts, a new tuning dial string, new mounting grommets for the tuning condenser, testing of all tubes to ensure proper emissions and performance, new dial lamp, and line cord. And finally, the set was heat tested to ensure operational reliability. The bakelite knobs are original and in perfect condition.
