Baja 4.5
Excellent value and great craftsmanship. The Baja 4.5 came extremely sharp from the factory and I really like the narrow grips. Although I replace the leather sheath with a custom Kydex sheath, the factory leather sheath was very well made (I just prefer Kydex). The narrower 5/32" blade was also one of the other things I was looking for. This narrow blade made it a very fine slicer for feather sticks and othern bushcraft task. My BK9 handles the chopping and batoning so it wasn't an issue with the Baja 4.5 not being a big chopper and splitter (although it can do small to medium chopping and splitting). TOPS is appropriate description
Very versatile and ergonomic design. The quality of materials and construction leave it holding a great edge while being easy to resharpen. I use it for a wide variety of purposes from fine carving of trap triggers and feather sticks to rough work such as light batoning. The blade width and length also leave it as a pretty good hunting knife. I prefer this "wash" surface treatment to the coating on the other 3 TOPS knives that I own. Like many knife enthusiasts (nuts), I have some specialty blades that excel at a limited number of uses, but this baby can cover a wide variety of needs in the woods.
