Excellent camera when coupled with the 14-45 or the 45-200 lens. Pictures are exceptionally sharp, color is excellent. Camera has tilt screen which is an added plus. The onboard flash is a tad weak, but sufficient for fill light in or out side of house. I have owned the G1 also, but this model has video and does an excellent job with video. All in all I will keep this camera for some time and not upgrade to anything in the immediate future.
This camera is great. I bought for my grandson, he is into skateboarding and wanted a camera that would take HD video. It is not the newest state of the art, but pretty close. The fold out video screen is crystal clear. It is very easy to use. I got the best price and got the best camera for the buck. My grandson and i are very happy.
The LCD and viewfinder of the G2 is the same level as the SLR viewfinder with a mirror. That's why I look at this camera with a small footprint and low weight. Although the objectives for this camera are a bit expensive, it is expected that the standard micro 4/3 allows other manufacturers to offer better quality objectives and price. I love this camera, but I think over a ISO 800 the noise in the images is remarkable.
I purchased G2 to replace the Olympus E-PL2 because of the view finder. Meanwhile, purchased a FZ150. Gave up the FZ150 because of cheap feeling of body. G2 has lots of features, sometimes, seems too much and too many duplicated operations. However, good for travelling, its light weight & solid. IQ is so so compares to Nikon D90.
This is a three year old model which suits my needs perfectly. It replaces a much older(by photographic standards) Panasonic. I particularly like the articulating screen, the large bright viewfinder, and the light weight. And especially the attractive price. It would give it all ten stars if I could.
