Absolutely beautiful large cot, made with turned wood frame in the bobbin or cotton reel style. Hand belt turned, with oak veneer head board. Cot measures 116 cm high by 147.5 cm long and 77 cm wide. It has a few faults - the headboard has been stripped and oiled, and in the stripping, the veneer has cracked all over. This is not so bad visually, but it gives a rather rather feeling to the touch. The old metal drop side bars have stuck at the foot end - just needs freeing up. The base inside would once have had old metal springs, but these have been replaced with wooden slats, which are too weak at the front - if you actually wanted to put a child in here, you would have to run a beam under the length of the front of the slats to give strength. Visually, it is divine, and would be a hugely decorative, may be for a doll or bear collection, although it is very big. Would date very early 20th century. Domestic New Zealand market only.

Old pine wall cupboard, two glazed front doors, and turned cornice. It measures 98 cm high, 115 cm wide and 30 cm deep. The inside has tongue and groove wooden back. Stripped back to the pine, cornice was a later addition. Inside is as is - painted white, distressed appearance. Very handsome cupboard, currently doing time in our shop for display. I bought this many years ago in auction in Sydney. It has some splinters of wood missing, which were filled and sanded, as origionally it was going to be painted inside and out. Temporary knob. Domestic New Zealand market only.
