Stanley No. 66 Rosewood Marking Gauge
 
Description:
This is a nice clean, rare oval head, rosewood marking gauge, not marked by the maker, but has the Aug. 5, 1873 patent date stamped on it, that is known as the Justus Traut's patent and manufactured by Stanley from 1859-1897. It features inch graduation to 6 inches, a good sharp adjustable scribe (this model has a oblong brass plate in the area around the scribe pin, made to last a lifetime. It has a good brass slid plate, thumbscrew, and shoe. There is some wear on the graduated scale, some dings and scratches. Good working wood thumb screw and slide, a very nice looking gauge, rare and in nice condtion overall!
