View Larger Image   Stanley No. 18 1/4 Block Plane Rare!   Description: This is a nice clean rare block plane with the 1 5/8" wide cutter x 6" long. It is marked "STANLEY SW MADE IN U.S.A." on the cutter, "STANLEY" on the spring cap cover, and "STANLEY MADE IN U.S.A. No. 18 1/4" on the bed, and "STANLEY MADE IN U.S.A." on the cutter. A very nice looking plane with over 95% of it's original black Japanning, very clean bare metal surfaces, and a most of the nickel plating intact on the cap cover. There is some red paint on the nickel plated front knob, from what I can see the nickel plating is intact if you wish to restore it to original. There is a hole drilled just in front of the finger knob for hanging I assume. The cutter is at 20 degrees on this plane, and it's sharp, ready to use with plenty of stock left for future sharpening.
