Aiken F.H. Adjustable 4" Wrench 1880's

Description:
This is a good 19th century patented bicycle or pocket wrench marked "F.H. AIKEN" with the running rabbit logo on the reverse side of the upper jaw. This one is in very good condition with no rust or pitting, and even some of the nickel plating still intact, so it shines nicely. The Aiken manufacturing plant was located in Franklin N.H., and Francis H. Aiken ran that business until 1876 when he died. How long the business produced this model wrench after his death is unclear. This one is 4" long overall closed, is straight and clean, works perfectly, and has a very nice logo on it! A rare one!
