Adjustable Height Gage Transfer Stand

Description:
This is an rarely seen tool, basically an angle plate with the ability to hold a ruler or similar measuring gauge for the purpose of transfering dimensions from one place to another. Often used with a surface gage and scriber for layout work, but can be used as a transfer stand to be set on the surface plate for a specific dimension, then transferred to someplace else in the shop. The base of this one is 2.5 x 3.5" and is 6.25" tall. The rule you see in the pictures is a 12" combination square rule, and is show as an example, not included in this offer. The casting seems to be aluminum, with steel inserts. The minimun rule or stock width to be held is 1". Overall a really nicely cast tool, with a three pin slide, controlled by the thumb wheel at the back of the units' upper section. In very good working condition with only minor wear, some missing paint and stains noted, but the steel base it flat.
