This is a rare find , an authentic 1928 porcelain service plate from the historic Hotel Bossert in Brooklyn Heights, New York.
Manufactured by Scammell’s Lamberton China in Trenton, New Jersey, and distributed by James M. Shaw & Co., this plate was custom-made for the hotel\'s famous ship-themed rooftop restaurant, the \"Marine Roof.\"
The front features a vibrant illustration of the Manhattan skyline and New York Harbor as seen from Brooklyn, framed by a beautiful blue border decorated with galleon ships and clouds.
The back includes a crisp, light purple stamp displaying the complete historic poem commemorating the 300-year evolution of the skyline from Hendrik Hudson\'s ship to modern times.
This plate is in excellent, vintage condition with a glossy finish and sharp, rich, colorful image.
Showing no chips, cracks, or crazing. There is some light cosmetic rubbing on the gold rim edge from past stacked storage.
