Up for your consideration is a beautiful antique frame crafted from solid figured tiger maple. It measures approximately 23 15/16" x 28 7/8" overall with a 2" wide cove profile moulding that is 1 9/16" thick. The rabbet measures 20 5/8" x 25 3/8". Under the original wavy glass is an antique matted print or photogravure measuring 10.5" x 16" (sight). The portrait appears to be Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia (Viktoria Luise von Preußen), the only daughter and youngest child of German Emperor Wilhelm II. The bottom right corner features a faint artist or publisher signature ("Paul Heils..." or similar printmaker script), which was common for widely distributed contemporary cabinet cards, photogravures, and postcards of royal children during that era.
