Farm to Market Road 1847 is in Cameron County, running through Los Fresnos and Brownsville, very close to the Mexican border and not far from South Padre Island. In Brownsville, FM 1847 is also known as Paredes Line Road.The road is about 27.8 miles long. TxDOT records show FM 1847 was originally designated on November 20, 1951, initially running to State Highway 100 at Los Fresnos. It was subsequently extended south toward Brownsville and north toward the Arroyo Colorado area.
