Vintage Timex electric rotating watch display case, believed to date to the 1970s. This is a large, original retail/store display featuring two illuminated rotating watch racks and the classic red TIMEX logo across the top.
The display has been cleaned and tested and is in working condition. Both rotating mechanisms operate properly, including the designed pause/indexing action on each side. The power switch works, and both fluorescent light fixtures illuminate. Please see photos for overall cosmetic condition, as this is a vintage piece and does show normal age-related wear, scratches, discoloration, and other signs of use.
Please note that the display is missing four of its original clear watch shelves/trays. The shelves shown in the photos are the only shelves included. The four additional shelves were already missing when I acquired the display and are not included with the sale. Please review the photos carefully to see exactly what is included.
Two fluorescent tubes are included and will be removed and individually wrapped for shipping. Both currently illuminate, but one appears to be nearing the end of its service life. Due to the age and fragile nature of the bulbs, operation of the fluorescent tubes upon arrival is not guaranteed. Replacement F15T8/CW 15-watt fluorescent tubes are readily available.
Condition note: The front TIMEX logo/sign panel has separated somewhat from the housing, as shown in the photos. When positioned normally on the display, it sits in place and does not move around. I have intentionally not attempted to glue or otherwise repair it, as I did not want to make a permanent repair that a future owner or collector may prefer to address differently. It is being sold in its current condition, and the separation is shown clearly in the photos.
The display measures approximately 26" wide × 15" deep × 27" tall.
This is a substantial vintage Timex advertising/display piece that looks fantastic illuminated and operating. The clear watch holders rotate to display watches from multiple angles and pause between movements as designed.
Please note: This is an approximately 50-year-old electrical/mechanical display and is being sold as a vintage collectible. It has been tested and demonstrated working prior to shipment, but no guarantee is made regarding future longevity of the original electrical or mechanical components.
The display will be carefully packed with extensive cushioning and reinforcement for shipment. Please review all photos closely for condition and feel free to ask any questions before purchasing.
