Vintage 1968 US Army Field Desk, Headquarters Type I, Vietnam Era, Tricol Mfg, CompleteDescription:Up for sale is a genuine US military field desk, the kind officers and clerks used to set up a working office anywhere in the field. It's dated November 1968, so it's right in the Vietnam War era.The whole thing packs into one sturdy olive drab trunk. Open the front and it turns into a working desk with fold-out legs, and it appears to be complete, including the chair. Everything folds back inside, and you close it up with the latches like a footlocker. What's on it: • Stenciled "DESK, FIELD, HEADQUARTERS" and "THIS SIDE UP" on top
• Original inside markings: 7110-267-1999, DESK FIELD TYPE I, DSA-400-69-C-0773, dated 11/68, made by Tricol Mfg. Co.
• "U.S." stenciled on the frame
• Original Vintage Old blue label tape reading "This container contains no classified material," a cool little piece of history
• Comes with the padlock and chain still attached (no key - sorry)Condition:
Honestly, it's in great shape for being over 55 years old. The paint is original with normal scuffs, a few small chips, and some light surface wear on the corners and edges. The handles, latches, and hinges all work. It's solid, with no big dents or damage. Please look closely at the photos, since they're the best description of what you'll get. This would be great for a military collector, a reenactor, or anyone who wants a really unique piece for a man cave, office, or shop. They don't make them like this anymore.Feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks for lookingzLocated in Denison, Texas (North of Dallas)
