Vintage African tribal mask representing the Baule (or Yaure/Guro) artistic traditions of the Ivory Coast (Côte d\'Ivoire). This striking portrait mask features a highly stylized, dark-patinated face contrasted by an intricately engraved, conical coiffure with geometric line work.
The reverse side beautifully shows the authentic, rugged marks of manual adze and chisel craftsmanship. The perimeter of the unpainted wood flange features multiple hand-drilled holes historically used to attach a woven raffia costume or secure a display wire. It has been fitted with a simple braided cord on the reverse and is ready for wall hanging. It also features a temporary paper sale/inventory sticker on the bottom inner rim.

Condition Report:
Good vintage condition with a beautiful, deep-toned surface patina. Shows minor surface dust in the crevices and light edge wear consistent with age and gentle handling. There is a small, natural vertical age-crack in the raw wood along the lower back flange (visible in photos), which is incredibly common for older native hardwoods and does not impact the structural integrity of the piece. Please inspect all high-resolution photos carefully to assess the exact condition for yourself.
