GE made some of the best alarm clock radios of the 70s and 80s but these are arguably the best.
At first glance the keypad looks a little garbled or confusing but it almost definitely has the most intuitive interface an alarm clock radio has ever had.
Setting the time, alarm times, radio stations and radio presets is ridiculously fast and easy.
If you\'re listening to FM and want to tune to 104.5 FM, press 1045-enter.
If you want 99.5 FM, press 995-enter.
If you want to set the time to 12:30 AM, press 1230-enter.
If you want to set the time to 12:30 PM, press 1230-pm-enter.
The alarm times, \"snooz\" and 6 preset stations are also set that quick and easy.
This one has been completely disassembled and cleaned.
Every plastic part, switch and button has been cleaned with soap and water.
The battery compartment and connections are clean and free from acid.
It has the original cord which is in very good condition.
I used this for several days to verify that everything, including the battery backup, is in good working order (batteries are not included).
This is not a dirty clock being sold directly from a yard, garage or estate sale.
With mine, you can unpack it, plug it in and start using it without having to worry about dust, dirt or something living (or dead) inside of it.
Considering this is 40+ years old, it\'s in very good cosmetic condition with some blemishes and scratches.
Please look at all of the pictures as they\'re part of the description.
I\'ll ship this to the lower 48 states only, with tracking and insurance, asap after payment.
Please ask any questions before buying.
Thanks for viewing.
Please note:
I buy, repair, clean and then resell these in my spare time.
Obviously there\'s a limited amount available since the majority of them were discarded when they stopped working.
My radio is priced higher than most of the other ones being sold on because of the processes I like to go through to offer a nice, clean and working radio.
If you\'re looking at one of these from another seller who states theirs is fully working but doesn\'t have a video, assume it\'s not.
While recording video of the 4885, the blue display might intermittently disappear.
That\'s because it\'s a florescent display, in reality it looks absolutely fine.
