100% Genuine Mosasaur Tooth Fossil Morocco 20mm in Presentation BoxThese 100% genuine mosasaur teeth are from the enormous marine reptile, Mosasaur. They could grow to 56 feet/17 metres in length and were the top predator in the sea at the time. The first described mosasaur fossils were found in a limestone quarry on the Meuse River in Holland in 1764, and its name means ‘Lizard of the Meuse River’.
Mosasaurs, lived in the warm, shallow seas of the Late Cretaceous, roughly 100 million years ago to 66 million years ago, at the same time of dinosaurs. They have been discovered in North America, northern and western Africa, though these fossil was found in the Khouribga phosphate mines in Morocco. This region of land was under the ocean at the time when these creatures were alive but is now in the desert after continental shifts move the area inland.
These teeth are good examples of this prehistoric marine creature and are approximately 20mm long and 10mm wide at the base.As is common with prehistoric teeth, these items may have some minor damage and/or repair.
