A striking hot pink to bubblegum-pink tourmaline Crystals specimen from Paprok, Nuristan, Afghanistan, dramatically perched on a contrasting white Fledspar matrix. Paprok is renowned for its exceptional gem-quality elbaite tourmaline, particularly intensely saturated pink crystals with strong vertical striations and attractive natural luster. The crystals in the photograph displays a rich neon-magenta/pink coloration, with pronounced longitudinal growth striations that give the surface a beautifully fibrous, architectural appearance. Its translucent-to-gemmy portions allow light to penetrate the crystals, enhancing the saturated pink color. Similar Paprok material is often described by collectors as “bubblegum pink” tourmaline, a particularly desirable color style from the locality.
