Offered here is an original archive of Bill Haley & His Comets memorabilia consisting of eleven (11) original vintage amateur photographs, one (1) original handwritten Rudy Pompilli autograph, and two (2) original vintage newspaper clippings featuring Bill Haley & His Comets, all acquired together as part of the same collection.
The archive includes only one photograph in the collection depicting Bill Haley himself, along with numerous original images of members of Bill Haley & His Comets in both performance and candid settings. Identifiable members represented within the archive include Rudy Pompilli, Johnny Kay, John “Bam Bam” Lane, Joey Welz, and other members of the band.
Also included is an original handwritten autograph from Rudy Pompilli, legendary saxophonist for Bill Haley & His Comets. The inscription is written in blue ballpoint on an irregularly hand-cut piece of paper measuring approximately 4½” × 3½” and reads:
“To Eileen
From one star to another star
Love & Success
Rudy (SAX) Comets”
Also included are two original vintage newspaper clippings featuring Bill Haley & His Comets that were acquired with the same collection.
Contents include:
* Six (6) original photographs measuring approximately 3½” × 3½”
* Four (4) original photographs measuring approximately 4½” × 3½”
* One (1) original photograph measuring approximately 4” × 3¼”
* One (1) original Rudy Pompilli handwritten autograph measuring approximately 4½” × 3½”
* Two (2) original vintage newspaper clippings featuring Bill Haley & His Comets
These items were acquired as part of a larger collection of personal memorabilia connected with members of Bill Haley & His Comets. The collection included original unpublished photographs, handwritten material, newspaper clippings, signed items, and other personal memorabilia associated with the band.
This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire an original archive documenting one of the pioneering groups of rock & roll. The combination of unpublished photographs, the Rudy Pompilli autograph, and the accompanying newspaper clippings creates a unique collection that would make an exceptional addition to any Bill Haley & His Comets or early rock & roll memorabilia collection.
