Offered here is an original July 9th, 1887 handwritten business letter on ornate letterhead from J. Simon & Bro., Wholesale Tobacco and Cigars, located at 101 Commerce Street, Montgomery, Alabama. The letter is addressed to Messrs. Gish & Co., Lynchburg, Virginia.

Gentlemen,
Yours of the 7th inst to hand. Mr. M. Behr is out of the city having gone to the springs but learn will return on next Wednesday. Shall call and see him in regards as to the goods.
If my letter of the 7th is satisfactory make me up a new line of samples and a sample case and forward it to me as soon as possible also Dunn’s books for Ga and Ala and order blanks.
